The Locals are a roots-infused indie-rock, power pop band who have been hitting the highways in the Midwest for the last 7 years.

The lifeblood of this band is their high energy live performances, packed with diverse and dynamic tunes. You'll remember a Locals show because of the power-house vocals of Yvonne Doll and the eccentric, high voltage stage presence of bassist Christy Nunes, and the intensely emotional drumming style of EJ Dawson.

As for influences, you'll may hear spatterings of PJ Harvey, Julianna Hatfield, Matthew Sweet, Wilco, and the Pretenders peering through the Locals tunes.

2005 marks a new beginning for The Locals. With the departure of 2 members (Violinist David Goldman and Drummer Ross Rutherford), the remaining, and founding Locals, Yvonne Doll and Christy Nunes have set out to reconstruct and evolve the band's music with a new sound, some new blood, and their own endless supply of energy.

EJ Dawson (drummer) joined these two pint sized, power-house women rockers in Oct 04. The (new) Locals are currently in the studio working on their latest disc. The "new" Locals three piece has a pure laser focused, tight, power-pop, one two punch delivery!
